Imagemakers creates logo for new statewide high tech association

WAMEGO -- When the Kansas Technology Enterprise Corporation decided to launch a statewide trade association to support the state’s burgeoning software and information technology industry they turned to Imagemakers, Inc. to create a logo that would best represent their new organization.

Imagemakers, a Wamego-based design firm, has received several prestigious awards for its design, and identity and logo creations.  In 2006 Imagemakers received the American Graphic Design Award from Graphic Design USA magazine for its “Wicked” logo created for the Emerald City Market.  In 2006 the firm also received the Main Street Award of Excellence for Outstanding Design.

“The awards are nice, but we are more interested in helping our clients communicate more clearly.  When we succeed at that, they succeed, and being a part of that process means more to us than winning an award,” said Dan Holmgren, creative director and president of Imagemakers.

KTEC’s new non-profit organization, Software and Information Technology Association of Kansas, will support over 3,200 software, information technology and telecommunications companies and over 54,000 high-wage technology workers in the state.  The mission of SITAKS is to strengthen and expand the software and IT sector through advocacy, management level education and networking.

Its founding board of directors include:  Scott Coons, CEO, Perceptive Software, Shawnee; Laurie Minard, VP of HR, Garmin International, Olathe; Toby Rush, CEO, Rush Tracking, Lenexa; Clint Batman, CEO, ThinkGEO, Lawrence; Col. Randy Roebuck, Great Plains Joint Regional Command, Wichita; Shawn McCarrick, CIO, Freightquote, Lenexa ; Ann Martin, CIO, LSI, Wichita; Lirel Holt, CEO, Powered by U, Overland Park; John Repko, CIO of Chemidex, Overland Park; Joel Wiggins, President, Enterprise Center of Johnson County, Lenexa; Dr. Ravi Pendse, Wichita State University, Wichita; Dr. Virgil Wallentine; Kansas State University, Manhattan and Tracy Taylor, President and CEO, KTEC, Topeka.

In addition to identity and logo design, Imagemakers also specializes in web design and development, and communication materials from signage to four-color brochures.  The firm prides itself on being small enough to offer personalized service but with the expertise and creative energy required to produce powerful designs and promotional materials that deliver results.

“Everything we do has a purpose.  Our goal is to help our clients communicate and succeed.  We always ask our clients what they want for their business and how each decision and project will help them achieve that,” Holmgren said.

Imagemakers’ clients cover a wide range of business interests from the Kansas Film Commission to Dymax mining and construction equipment.  Other clients include the Oz Museum, Kansas Rural Communities Foundation, Academy Award Nominee Karen Black, Allyn & Bacon, Pottawatomie County Economic Development Corporation, and Vanderbilt’s.
